About Us

Magic of Bronze was founded in June of 1996 by a group of enthusiastic ringers and directors whose goals were:

  • to attract and challenge intermediate to advanced handbell ringers through the rehearsal and performance of quality music

  • to be a resource for the Central Florida handbell community and promote handbell ringing within the community

  • to expand the public appreciation of and interest in handbell music through engaging concerts for the audience

  • to provide education to the greater community of the art of handbell ringing

  • to have fun!

Magic of Bronze realizes these goals through the performance of two concert series a year, providing educational opportunities for ringers at the Central Florida Ringers workshop, being a resource for local handbell choirs, and performing gigs throughout the community.

Ensembles

Magic of Bronze features two ensembles, providing an opportunity for handbell musicians of all abilities. Members of both ensembles have opportunities for performances in concerts, workshops, and gigs.

Cadence

Cadence is a bronze-level ringing ensemble. Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30pm in Orlando. This ensemble requires an invitation to join based on observations of ringing ability at our Open Rings, which are held every summer. Members of this ensemble must commit to performing in all concerts each season.

Resonance

Resonance is an intermediate-level ringing ensemble. Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 6:15-7:15pm in Orlando. Prospective members are invited to express interest in the ensemble and are invited to join at the beginning of each season or fill in as substitute ringers during the season.
